Course Overview

To increase skills and knowledge through both assessment in the workplace including a project and achievement of the professional qualification. This will allow learners to develop within any HR environment which includes handling day to day queries and providing human resources advice ranging from recruitment through to retirement. You will also gain Foundation Membership of the CIPD. This can be for anyone who wants to develop existing skills to progress within the HR vocational area.

Work Experience & Industry Placements

This apprenticeship will be employer based within a HR environment. Employers will also take a role in working with the college to help develop and upskill their staff.

Qualification Gained

Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship and CIPD Level3 Certificate (formal qualification).

After The Course

The successful apprentice may be eligible to apply for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or any other professional body that recognises this apprenticeship within its membership criteria (membership is subject to the professional bodies own membership requirements). This qualification forms the foundation of a career within the profession, giving the base for further development through a career path within an organisation and/or through the HR Consultant/Partner apprenticeship. The apprentice can choose to stay within core HR or diversify into one of the specialist areas of HR. It can lead on to further HR related qualifications such as the Level 5 CIPD.

What Will I Learn

Understanding of the role and focus of HR within the organisation; its business plan / priorities and how these apply to their role. Basic understanding of HR in their sector and any unique features. Good understanding of HR legislation and the HR Policy framework of the organisation. Sound understanding of the HR Policies that are relevant to their role. Know where to find expert advice. Understand the systems, tools and processes used in the role, together with the standards to be met, including the core HR. systems used by the organisation.

English And Maths

Level 2 in both English and maths is essential to this apprenticeship.

Teaching Learning and Assessment

Formal qualification (CIPD Level 3) will be taught in the classroom with a qualified teacher looking at appropriate units linked to the job role. Assessments will be marked, and feedback given at key points. Apprenticeship (Level 3 in HR Support) reviews will be held regularly with both learner and employers to monitor progression and development.

How Will I Be Assessed

Apprenticeship: Through production of work-based evidence, a consultative project and professional discussion Formal CIPD qualification will be assessment.

Entry Requirements

Some business administration will be required as this apprenticeship is employer based. Currently working in a HR related role. Commitment to complete the apprenticeship and the formal CIPD qualification within the allotted timescales.

Required Experience

Business administration experience. HR related experience (not essential). Working in a team within a HR environment . Some legislative experience .
