Site: Employer Premises

Course Overview

The Operational/Departmental Manager apprenticeship is an exciting work-based route towards acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary in performing more senior management roles. The apprenticeship is ideal for those, currently in a supervisory role, or for junior managers looking to progress to a more senior management role. The apprenticeship provides learners with an extensive range of management knowledge and practical skills, which will prove invaluable to those looking to develop their career. The apprenticeship is a 30 month programme and is a combination of work based learning and also study of the Chartered Management Institute’s Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership with lecturers at Yeovil College.

How Will I Be Assessed

You will have regular meetings with your on programme assessor either in the workplace or online. Your knowledge, skills and behaviours will be measured against industry standards and developed through work based learning, online teaching and assessment. Your units of work studied on the Level 5 Diploma are assessed by your lecturers at Yeovil College. Your competency as an Operational/Departmental manager will be measured through end point assessments which take place through the Chartered Management Institute.

Entry Requirements

This apprenticeship is suitable for those who are already in the workplace with current supervisory or junior management responsibilities. The entry requirement for this apprenticeship may typically be five GCSEs at Grade 5 (C) or higher, but relevant experience and prior knowledge will be taken account, where applicants do not necessarily possess the requisite GCSEs. Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment. This will be organised as part of your apprenticeship programme.
