Course Overview

The Personal Trainer apprenticeship is perfect if you are looking to grow or start your career in the health, fitness and well-being industry. The role of a Personal Trainer is to coach clients (on a one to one and small group basis) towards their health and fitness goals. Personal Trainers will motivate clients to positively change their behaviour and improve their overall well-being.

After The Course

Successful completion of this apprenticeship will enable further experience and training in the fitness industry to support the role into fitness management or a specialist instructor. You will be eligible to apply to become an Affiliate of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and a Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS).

What Will I Learn

You will learn a range of knowledge and skills related to becoming a successful personal trainer. These will include, but not limited to, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, business acumen and exercise technique. You will also learn behaviours that enable you to create and maintain positive, professional and trusting relationships with clients.

English And Maths

Candidates without English and Maths GCSE at Grade C or above (or approved equivalent) must ensure the individual achieves this standard prior to the completion of the apprenticeship.

Our Lecturers

All of our assessors and lecturers are highly qualified industry professionals, who will help guide you through the apprenticeship, allowing you to achieve your potential.

Tutorials

An assessor will conduct 1:1 meetings on a weekly basis during your apprenticeship.

How Will I Be Assessed

You will be assessed by an independent assessor through an end point assessment. The EPA will consist of a practical observation, a presentation and an interview. You will also build a portfolio throughout the duration of the apprenticeship that showcases your journey to becoming a successful personal trainer.

Required Experience

Employers will set their own entry requirements for this apprenticeship, however, it is recommended applicants will hold a Fitness Instructing (level 2) qualification.
