This Apprenticeship is designed to support learners to develop a full range of underpinning knowledge that can be used in a variety of businesses and industries that demonstrate confidence and transferability in a Digital Technology Environment. You will also develop your awareness of Health and Safety, employment awareness, communications and working relationships.
An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non-routine problems.
The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity.
Individual employers will set their selection criteria, but the standard requires that the Apprentice hold or achieve English and Maths understanding and functional application at Level 2.
Completing this apprenticeship programme with its transferable skills will enable progression into roles such as Help Desk Technician, First or Second Line Support, IT Infrastructure Technician, Network Support
All training is delivered solely in the workplace with the exception of the endpoint assessment, which will be at a given location. You will be working in a relevant workplace and have the support of your line manager/employer for the duration of your Apprenticeship. Full support given by monthly sessions with your Assessor and regular reviews with your employer
A combination of on-programme assessment of knowledge and technical understanding, threshold assessment and endpoint Assessment.
This apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the register of IT technicians confirming SFIA level 3 professional competence and those completing the apprenticeship are eligible to apply for registration.
