Yeovil Town Football Club Scholarship Programme

Yeovil Town Football Club has teamed up with Yeovil College to offer a fantastic new scheme for talented football players who are keen to work towards a professional career with Yeovil Town FC.

The Scholarship Programme

The Programme works much like an Apprenticeship. Successful applicants will spend 1.5 days a week studying with the College for either a BTEC National Certificate in Sport or a BTEC First Diploma in Sport. Which course you study depends upon your GCSE results. You will spend the remaining 3.5 days with your training provider, Yeovil Town Football Club, and receive a training fee of approximately £55 per week (correct at time of publication).

Entry Requirements and the Application Process
As well as playing to a high standard, you must also have the right grades for one of the following College courses:

If your application is successful, you will be expected to study one of these courses 1.5 days a week at Yeovil College.

Trials
Trials for the programme commence in October each year with successful applicants given further coaching opportunities throughout the year by a team of Yeovil Town FC and Yeovil College staff. In May, up to 12 scholarships will be offered. These commence on 1st July 2012.

The remaining applicants can study a full-time course at the College and be part of the Football Development Centre, which will be linked to the Scholarship Programme. Full-time students may be given the opportunity of signing for the Club as Associate Schoolboys. This means that you can attend any sixth form or college, but that you cannot be approached by any football club other than Yeovil Town.
