Yeovil has a very high reputation for the development of talented performers.  Our teams and individuals have been successful in regional and national level competitions, with some achieving acclaim at international level. 

Past students have progressed onto the Olympic Games, professional football contracts, as well as a number of successful sporting careers.  
Sports Collage 
We have many students who participate in a variety of National sports teams including rugby, football, netball, hockey, swimming, Bob Skeleton, trampolining and volleyball. Our current Academy sports include:

  • Athletics and Cross Country
  • Badminton
  • Boys and Girls Football
  • Netball
  • Boys and Girls Rugby

The College is also host to the Bob Skeleton Centre of Excellence.

Yeovil College is part of the TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) which provides support and services for Elite Sports Performers. The College also run Gifted and Talented programmes for secondary school pupils at Year 9, 10, 11 with the JAE (Junior Athlete Education) programmes run in conjunction with South East Somerset School Sport Partnership and the Youth Sport Trust.

As a student you will have access to excellent facilities including; Sports hall, sports pitches, synthetic Athletics Track and purpose built Gym with Olympic free weights and resistance machines.

Development of Coaches

The College also develops talented coaches and officials working with schools and the local authority.
We offer National Governing Body (NGB) coaching qualifications as well as recognised leadership courses (Community Sports Leadership Award and Higher Sports Leadership Award) and Volunteer sport schemes such as Step into Sport.
