If you are looking for a career in the Electrical or Security industries then the North Dorset Skills Centre is a good place to start. Learners can undertake Apprenticeship schemes or Technical Certificates and NVQs depending which course is most suitable. We also provide a range of short courses for people wishing to enter these industies along with up-to-date courses for qualifies engineers and electricians.
Security and Emergency Alarm Systems - Working with Gents Honeywell we are the South West's only centre for this course!
City & Guilds 17th Edition Regulation - For those with the 16th Edition who need to update to the 17th Edition Qualification.
City & Guilds 2330 Electrotechnical Technology Level 2 - First year of two course to become an installation electrian.
City and Guilds 2330 Electriotechnical Level 3 - This year completes the City anbd Guilds 2330 course.
NVQ 2356 Installing and Commissioning Electrotechnical Systems - For persons working towards becoming a graded electrician.
Plumbing
We have a designated workshop for plumbing practical work. The workshop allows the simulation of 'real' plumbing circumstances and situations which helps build learner confidence to operate effectively in the workplace.

Hairdressing
The North Dorset Skills Centre hair salon 'Head Start', is a state of the art learner based training facility. It functions like a professional high street salon. It provides a wide range of hairdressing services available to learners, the community and staff.

Business
Are you working in a business and customer services environment and would like to gain a nationally recognised qualification?
If the course is suitable, learners can take up the opportunity to study for NVQs and Apprenticeships which also includes Technical Certificates and Key Skills. We are also offering a Team leading NVQ for people in a supervisory or team leading position.
