Role of International Students Ambassadors

Yeovil College will be accepting international students from this September and has introduced the Ambassador scheme to help them settle in at the College.

Many curent Yeovil College students will be recruited to mentor these new students, supporting them through their first days in Yeovil.  Ambassadors will ensure the new International students have all the support they need to take an active role in the student community and get the most from their time at College.

The Ambassadors will be taking Mandarin lessons and will follow a specially designed programme of training ready for September.

The Director of Adult and International Learners, Tracey Zimmerman said “We decided to introduce this scheme as we felt it was the best way to ensure that the new students were properly supported from the very beginning.  Some of them will be coming from a long way away and we are committed to doing our utmost to ensure that they settle comfortably into the College and local community.”
