Mathematics GCSE

Title and Level: Mathematics GCSE

Introduction
This course prepares you for Modular GCSE Mathematics at Foundation or Higher Level, covering topics in Algebra, Number, Shape, Space and Measures and Handling Data. In lecture sessions you will be taught the techniques needed and work through examples with support and monitoring.

Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirement but must be well motivated and prepared to work unsupervised.
Full time (Sixth Form) students need a Grade D to do this course.

Duration
Two hours per week for 30 weeks.
This course is available as a daytime or evening session.
Wednesdays 13:15 - 15:15  14/09/11 - 30/05/12
Wednesdays 18:30 - 20:30  14/09/11 - 30/05/12

Career prospects/Progression
A Grade 'C' or above in GCSE Mathematics is required for University entry and many forms of employment.

How will I be assessed?
Calculator and Non-calculator written exams in each of the three modules.

Course expenses
Course fees: £255 (£42 if you are in receipt of certain benefits)

No compulsory book but Lecturer will suggest books if asked. Own scientific calculator, squared paper & file, also protractor, ruler & pair of compasses are essential.
