Introduction
These short courses which are certificated by Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), are recommended to those people employed in the food industry as the basic level of requirement. Employees who handle food will gain a firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems and procedures involved.
Entry requirements
An interest in working safely with food.
Duration
This is a one day course 09:00 – 18:00. Various start dates throughout year (September, November, January, March, May and June).
We are now enrolling for the November sessions - Tuesday 1st November 2011.
Career Prospects/Progression
Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering
How will I be assessed?
A one-hour multiple choice question examination.

- Temperature Control
- Cleaning and Disinfection
- Legislation Relating to Food Hygiene
- Pest Control
- Monitoring Systems Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
